Necos Group: 10 years already!

It seems like yesterday... The “still very young” Italian company specializing in the design and manufacture of makeup formulas celebrated its tenth anniversary this year. It has been a successful journey for the company, which offers a comprehensive range of products including liquid and cream formulas, compact and loose powders, and a whole family of hybrid products for the lips and face. All of these products offer certified performance levels and a rapidly growing range of SPF formulations. With 400 formulas and around 50 client brands in 20 countries, the results of the last three years are impressive! “As for the evolution of customs duties, it is more the uncertainty and constant changes that complicate and make it difficult to develop a strategy, rather than the increases themselves, which end up being settled within the industry,” explains Dario Dall’Oste, CEO.

Necos truly reflects the dynamic and creative nature of the Italian cosmetics industry. The use of recycled ingredients, the increasing concentration of natural raw materials, and its LUMYLL® process are just a few of the steps in a journey that is invigorating to say the least. It should be noted that the company was also the first makeup supplier in Europe to obtain a fully HALAL-certified supply chain and manufacturing process.

“The recipe is often the same,” says Dario Dall’Oste, "but you still need the will and the means to implement it. Development necessarily requires a real investment policy. That’s what we did between 2023 and 2025, investing around €2.5 million in production capacity, technology, and human capital. This resulted in new robotic filling lines, a 110% increase in payroll, and, above all, the creation of a second factory in Moscazzano (CR), Nefill, which allowed us to internalize not only the filling of small and medium batches but also all post-filling packaging operations. This has increased our production area by more than two thousand square meters with two warehouses for packaging and finished products. As a result, our capacity has increased to some thirty-seven million pieces per year, while improving our flexibility towards our customers. We have also acquired fifteen thousand square meters of land with a view to further expanding the company.

400 formulas!

The year 2025 will undoubtedly have established Necos as a major player in the select circle of manufacturers specializing in the design and manufacture of cosmetic products for the makeup sector, with a product catalog of nearly four hundred formulas, a customer base of more than fifty brands, and direct exports to more than twenty countries around the world, mainly in Europe but also the Middle East. In terms of production equipment, the Italian firm has a full range of turbo emulsifiers from 10 to 600 kg, robotic lines capable of producing up to 35,000 pieces per day, and semi-automatic lines that can supply both small local brands and market giants, all supported by a sales team capable of communicating in five languages.

Not just a simple subcontractor!

“Today, our product range is very comprehensive,” explains Dario Dall’Oste, "with a whole series of formulas for lips and face (liquids and creams), compact and loose powders, not to mention a whole family of hybrid makeup products. All of this is obviously constantly evolving to keep up with or anticipate the needs of certain markets. One example is the complete elimination of talc rather than certain preservatives, and our ability to truly customize our products to target the required performance, marketing profiles, and end-consumer requirements. This is a highly complex and technical skill set, which is why we don’t consider ourselves a “subcontractor” but rather a “creator/designer.”

The success of hybrid products

The main obligation today is to offer customers the fastest possible time to market, as trends appear and disappear very quickly. This is what led Necos to launch its “Icon” project, which offers pre-tested “formula/packaging” combinations that allow brands to save up to six months in the product development process and respond very quickly to these trends. It should be noted that for more urgent projects, the company can guarantee a turnaround time of twelve weeks from the date of order. “It’s clear that the trend that has emerged today,” says Dario Dall’Oste, "is for hybrid makeup products that combine makeup and skincare. Lip makeup remains a fundamental trend, but we have also seen strong growth recently in the area of foundations and powders. After three years of work on our Lumyll® technology, which improves the performance of formulas in terms of coverage, lightness, comfort, and color intensity, next year will likely see the filing of our first patent in this field."

Legislation: adapting positively!

Regarding the often increasingly restrictive changes in legislation, the head of Necos sees them as opportunities rather than constraints: "These are obviously changes that often involve a great deal of work and are therefore initially perceived as tedious, complicating management because they require reformulation, retesting for stability and compatibility, updating of PIFs, etc. But good organization, good training, and cooperation between the various regulatory and research and development departments concerned are essential elements that enable us to anticipate and make these changes available to our customers well before the official deadlines imposed by legislation, which ultimately prove to be assets for the growth and development of the entire sector."
In early 2026, the Italian firm confirmed that it would publish the results of the work carried out in previous months on SA8000, SMETA, and Ecovadis certifications.
