Aptar Beauty focuses on innovation
According to a press release from Aptar, 2025 confirmed the Group’s strength in a beauty market that continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience. For the six months ended June 30, 2026, its revenue rose 8%, reaching $2.01 billion compared to $1.85 billion a year earlier.
“Despite an uncertain geopolitical and economic environment, the beauty market continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience,” Aptar-Beauty noted. “We are seeing increasing market polarization: premium segments continue to grow, while new, more accessible offerings are also enjoying strong success. This trend creates numerous opportunities for brands and drives innovation.”
The Group now relies on a solid industrial footprint with nearly 14,000 employees and a presence in 20 countries, and Aptar Beauty’s network—which includes more than 24 R&D centers and production sites—enables the company, according to its executives, “to support brands as closely as possible to their markets while ensuring a consistent level of quality, service, and expertise.”
A press release from Aptar Beauty notes in particular that “the global beauty market continues to grow by approximately 4%, driven by structural trends such as premiumization, dermocosmetics, personalization, and evolving consumer expectations”.
To support these transformations, the Group explains that it has focused its investments on four key areas: sustainability, personalization, inclusivity, and the growing convergence between the worlds of beauty, wellness, and dermocosmetics.
In terms of sustainability, Aptar Beauty states that it is continuing to develop solutions that promote circularity, while strengthening its commitments to inclusive design. In particular, it has become the first company in the beauty and packaging sectors to earn the “Inclusive Designer” label. “Against a backdrop of supply chain pressures,” explain company officials, “this global organization is, more than ever, a strategic advantage.”
Like all global industrial players, the Group is closely monitoring developments in the geopolitical and commercial landscape. “The main challenge lies less in the tariffs themselves than in the uncertainty and volatility they generate,” explain company officials, “with potential impacts on certain raw materials, energy, or plastic resins. In this context, the priority is to limit risks by diversifying supply sources and leveraging a multi-regional footprint.”
The Group notes that it has long pursued a strategy of producing as close as possible to its markets. “This organizational structure helps secure supplies for its customers, increase flexibility, and limit its exposure to disruptions in international trade.”
The Group also states that it continues to invest in productivity and the optimization of its operations in order to enhance its service quality and competitiveness.
“Today, packaging is no longer just a container,” the executives explain, “but a true driver of value creation. Consumers no longer accept a price premium that isn’t accompanied by tangible added value. Convenience, ease of use, protection of formulations, sustainability, and quality of use have become essential components of the product experience. In this context, packaging innovation is a powerful differentiator for brands.”
Innovation in the Service of Experience and Circularity
This strategy is reflected in several recent innovations:
• Nomad Refill, a refillable travel spray set to launch very soon with Bulgari, which allows users to refill a travel bottle directly from the main bottle in just a few seconds.
• Advance, which supports the transition to all-plastic dispensing systems designed to improve recyclability.
• Gaïa, a refillable airless solution co-developed with Clarins for Total Eye Lift, which combines a premium experience, personalization, and refillability.
• Micro Airless / Micro rPET Airless, used in the dermocosmetics sector, which combine formula protection, application precision, and a reduced environmental footprint.
“Beyond these launches,” the executives note, “we have several priorities: accelerating the launch of refillable solutions, incorporating more recycled materials, improving the recyclability of dispensing systems, and enhancing the consumer experience through increasingly intuitive and high-performance technologies.” NeoDropper Autoload, recently launched with Dermalogica, illustrates this ability to reinvent the application process with greater precision, simplicity, and control over dosage. “Tomorrow’s innovation must combine sustainability, desirability, and ease of use, without compromising perceived quality.”
Balancing Performance, Sustainability, and User Experience
According to Aptar Beauty , “performance and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. The challenge lies in developing solutions capable of reducing the environmental impact of packaging while enhancing the user experience and the value delivered to brands. This approach demonstrates that it is possible to combine refillability, improved recyclability, the use of recycled materials, and excellent usability, without compromising perceived quality.”
Thus, the design of Mono Micro—made entirely of PE, including the pump mechanism—ensures a high level of compatibility and protection for even the most delicate formulations. “Like all airless solutions,” company officials explain, “Micro offers excellent dispensing efficiency and enables 360° distribution.”
Accelerating the Circularity of Plastic
According to Aptar executives, “the goal is to improve overall environmental performance. In many applications, plastic offers significant advantages in terms of safety, formula protection, weight, and carbon footprint. The priority, therefore, is to accelerate its circularity through eco-design, the integration of recycled materials, and the development of refillable or reusable solutions.”
The teams at Aptar Beauty note that they are working on several complementary approaches: material reduction, single-material solutions, all-plastic pumps that are easier to recycle, the integration of rPET, and refill or reuse systems. “The goal is to provide brands with high-performance, innovative solutions that are compatible with current and future recycling infrastructures.”
