Silgan Dispensing: Two Years of Growth
The acquisition of Weener Packaging in late 2024, following the acquisitions of Albea Dispensing in 2020 and the WestRock Group in 2017, confirms Silgan Holdings Inc.’s commitment and expansion in the markets for dispensing systems and closure manufacturing, serving sectors such as fragrances and cosmetics, as well as food, beverages, personal care and health, and home and garden care products. The Group, whose revenue exceeded $6.5 billion last year, currently operates some 124 production sites in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. It is also one of the leading suppliers of metal containers in North America and Europe for the food and beverage industry, as well as for consumer goods. This acquisition of Weener Packaging has therefore also enabled the “Dispensing” division to expand significantly, both geographically and industrially. Guillaume de Demandolx, Chief Commercial Officer and Vice President of Fragrance, Beauty, and Asia Pacific, explains.
Europe now accounts for nearly 50% of Silgan Dispensing’s revenue, with sixteen manufacturing facilities. “South America has grown considerably thanks to a presence in Colombia and Argentina, as well as in India, with four company-owned plants,” explains Guillaume de Demandolx. “ Business dynamics vary greatly depending on the geographies and markets covered by Silgan and the diversity of its products, which enables the company to demonstrate true resilience over time. While the fragrance sector experienced significant inventory reduction by customers in 2024 and 2025, Brazil continued to grow, as did the Home and Personal Care sectors in Europe. All of this is taking place in an environment that has never been more volatile, with new regulations on plastics and their recyclability to anticipate. Silgan has therefore launched, in particular, two 100% recyclable platforms for airless dispensers and 2 cc pumps.”
Acting as a Partner
The unstable geopolitical environment and the events of recent years have forced the Group to exercise extreme vigilance to remain agile and flexible. “Silgan Dispensing has learned to adapt its risk management approach”, emphasizes Guillaume de Demandolx. “Our global supply chains, our cross-organizational collaboration, the partnerships we’ve forged with our suppliers, the sharing of capabilities within our network, and our experience in various markets enable us to anticipate evolving consumer needs and help our customers tackle challenges with confidence. Acting as a partner to our customers allows us to support them during these highly turbulent times. Our business continuity plan focuses in particular on the supply of key materials and the evaluation of alternative solutions that align with the brand experience, product integrity, and compatibility.”
The price increases imposed over the past few months have therefore had a relatively limited impact on the Group, “even though this situation,” emphasizes Guillaume de Demandolx, “may create uncertainty and affect the competitive landscape in certain countries. The most significant factor for us has been the increase in aluminum prices in the United States. As for the situation in the Middle East, it is creating real tensions in the raw materials market that will surely persist over time .” As for pressures on the supply of plastics, “ our size in Europe allows us to maintain privileged relationships with the entire supply chain .”

Environment: LifeCycle™ Technology
In response to the growing environmental challenges in the beauty market, Silgan Dispensing has developed the patented LifeCycle™ technology, which is based on a plastic spring. “This technology,” explains Guillaume de Demandolx, “enables us to design 100% recyclable dispensing solutions—free of metal and glass—while offering performance equivalent to, or even superior to, that of traditional solutions. ”
The ERA™ platform, equipped with this LifeCycle™ technology, is designed for both atmospheric and “airless” versions.
“Thanks to its very high compatibility,” emphasizes Guillaume de Demandolx, “ERA™ meets the needs of the most demanding formulations: sun care, foundations, oil-based formulas, and even highly sensitive skincare products. Its compact design also allows it to adapt to a wide variety of neck sizes. ”
ERA™ is part of the premium DNA airless collection and is designed to meet new regulatory requirements and eco-design expectations. The traditional metal spring is replaced by a plastic spring, ensuring the packaging’s recyclability.
Silgan Dispensing’s environmental commitment is also reflected in its participation in the CDP and EcoVadis programs, as well as in the development of numerous refillable solutions and the increasing integration of post-consumer recycled (PCR) resins into its products.
Innovation: Aspire® Chroma
Silgan Dispensing has been showcasing Aspire® Chroma for several months now—the latest evolution of its Aspire® fragrance pump platform, designed to combine customizable colors, spray performance, flexibility, and added value in the lifestyle products market.
“Aspire® Chroma adds a new dimension to the platform,” emphasizes Guillaume de Demandolx, “thanks to fully customizable colors made possible by molded PP pump covers and push buttons. The wide range of colors allows brands to develop a unique aesthetic, differentiate themselves across product lines, or create collections inspired by scent notes and fragrance families. It’s worth noting that we’ve chosen to launch Aspire Chroma with Pirouette™ technology, which allows consumers to easily unscrew the pump from the bottle to facilitate refilling or recycling.”
